• The rear of the G35 has been jacked up and sits on huge off-road tires.
  • A large rear wing has also been installed, although it serves little use.
  • The mismatched wheels and tires likely ruin the handling of the sedan.

The Nissan Skyline, better known as the Infiniti G35 and G37, has always been a polarizing car. Some love it, some hate it. But the latest version spotted in Japan? It’s likely to make both camps cringe. And we totally get why. This G35 looks like the lovechild of a drag racer and an off-roader, and it’s every bit as weird as that sounds.

We’ve only been able to track down a single image of this G35, but even if there were more circling the web, we’re not sure we’d want to see any more of the bizarre creation. It seems the owner of the car wanted to make it as crazy and impractical as possible, taking inspiration from different aftermarket tuning scenes.

The front end of the Infiniti has been resprayed with blue flames and sits on a set of black and silver wheels. If the owner had stopped there, it might not have been too bad. But of course, they didn’t. Instead, they jacked up the rear end of the G35 to fit a completely different set of wheels.

The rims are noticeably smaller than those in the front, but they’re wrapped in massive mud-terrain tires, which would be more at home on a Jeep Wrangler than this car. It also sports a towering rear wing straight out of the early 2000s. However, we suspect this G35 is never actually driven fast enough to need any significant downforce on the rear wheels.

As bizarre as this Skyline looks, we can’t help but wonder how it drive. Obviously, the steep rake would make it feel unlike any other car out there, and we suspect those rear tires generate a heap of unwanted noise in the cabin. Cornering is probably not something this car is particularly adept at either. What exactly is it good for? Turning heads, probably. It’s certainly got that down.
