2004 BMW M3 Convertible for sale on BaT Auctions – ending August 10 (Lot #204,515)

This 2004 BMW M3 convertible was purchased in 2016 by the seller following registration history in Texas and California. Finished in Imola Red over black Nappa leather upholstery, the car is powered by a 3.2-liter inline-six linked with a six-speed SMG sequential transmission and a limited-slip differential. Features include a black soft top, a removable hardtop, 19″ M double-spoke wheels, xenon headlights, heated power-adjustable front sport seats, navigation, a Harman Kardon sound system, and automatic climate control. Work performed since 2023 has included replacing the steering rack, tie rods, front lower control arm bushings, tires, power steering pump, battery, and valve cover gasket.  This E46 M3 has 102k miles and is offered with manufacturer’s literature, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.

The car is finished in Imola Red (405) and features a black convertible soft top as well as a removable hardtop, xenon headlights, parking sensors, fog lights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, LED taillights, and quad exhaust outlets. The hardtop headliner has been replaced, and there are scrapes on the underside of the front bumper cover. Close-up photographs of the exterior finish and trim are shown in the gallery below.

The 19″ M double-spoke Style 67 wheels are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires that were mounted in 2024. The car was factory equipped with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), and braking is provided by four-wheel ventilated discs. The power steering hose was replaced in 2021, the power steering pump, tie rods, steering rack, and front lower control arm bushings were replaced in 2023, and the brake fluid was changed in 2025.

The cabin features heated power-adjustable front sport seats upholstered in black Nappa leather, and Brushed Aluminum Shadow trim accents the dash and door panels. Interior amenities include cruise control, navigation, a CD stereo, Harman Kardon audio, and automatic climate control. According to the seller, the glove box is difficult to open without the key.

The multifunction leather-wrapped steering wheel features M-color stitching and frames a 185-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a variable redline, along with gauges for coolant temperature, oil temperature, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 102k miles, approximately 50k of which were added under current ownership.

The 3.2-liter S54 inline-six was factory rated at 333 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. The engine mounts and spark plugs were replaced in 2021, the battery was replaced in 2024, and the valve cover gasket was replaced in 2025. The hood struts were replaced in preparation for the sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed SMG sequential transmission and a limited-slip differential. The differential output shaft seal was replaced in 2021, and the transmission fluid was changed in 2023.
